Blue Egg Card

May 03, 2004 3 Replies

My partner who has not used his Egg card for about 2 years other than 3 weeks ago to do a balance transfer to Egg then Egg to overdraft has just received a letter saying that Egg are replacing the card with a new blue Egg Card.

This card is a mastercard with rates same as existing Egg card with 0% on purchases till 1st Nov and 0.5% cashback on everything, up to 10% cashback at selected online retailers and no cash advance fees.

Obviously we are both delighted with their new card. I have an 8 page of t&c's that i have yet to read and probably won't.

Not seen the new blue Egg Card on their website or being advertised anywhere yet.

I've not seen this either. I ordered a new card last week, as my signature strip is fading and so is my signature. Mine is a Visa card (not mastercard), so I'll let you know if I get the new design.

On another 'Egg' note, I just read that Egg is going to be taken over by MBNA. I'm not particulary happy, I have an MBNA card (which I don't use), they are an American company and I routinely get phone calls from call centres in India asking me if I want to "take advantage of a great offer on an MBNA loan" (which I don't).

Si.

Blimey - if they do that an I combine my Egg card and MBNA card then I'll end up with a credit limit of 21,000!

I got a green visa card in the post yesterday
