Egg - Bunch of wankers

Egg is supposed to be an internet bank. But their software seems to be crap. I changed my residence recently and so logged on to their website and updated my address. 7 months later they have sent a replacement ( chip and pin apparently ) card to my old address. On enquiry they admitted that it was a software fault. Jeez.

Probably an exception, rather than the rule. I moved house 18 months ago, and I did the address change on line, and after they verified this with the electoral roll, statements followed.

It is probably a good idea to request a statement, or something similar, shortly after a change of address notification.

The best one is what happened to me a couple of years ago with Natwest. Phoned up to notify them of a change of address. They went through some security questions and one of them was some letters from my online banking password. Since I had never used this I didnt know what they were. They said they would have to reset my online banking and send me the password in the post (to my old address of course) before I could ring back and update my address.

I don't think this was an exception. I recently experienced the same problem. I notified Egg about a change of address over 12 months ago and have been receiving statements at my new address ok.

However when I tried to withdraw cash using my cash card It was refused because the card had expired. When I rang Egg to ask when I would receive a replacement, I was told that a new one had been sent out but to my old address.
