Can't connect to database

I am using pos v1 for 3 lanes waiting for the upgrade. I installed it on one computer and everything is working fine. When I installed it on the second computer and type in store/msposinstance it says name or password are incorrect. The main computer says the database is //store/msposinstance.

I don't work with MSPOS, but it looks like you may be using the wrong slash to indicate the instance name. Try this: store\msposinstance

OK, that was because it's trying to use Windows Authentication and you aren't logged into the remote machine. I really have no idea how MSPOS tries to connect; in RMS, you would use SQL Server Authentication and this would not be an issue. This looks like MSPOS is using Windows Authentication to connect to the database, but something is not configured to allow users from other registers to authenticate. Check the documentation or readme file for connecting multiple registers or call your reseller for assistance.

Make sure you have the same username with the same password on both machines. POS uses Windows authentication.

Check on your SQL Database if is available named pipe protocols and TCP/ip.

SQL 2005 (and I think also sql express) after installation are available only for local connection, and is your responsability to enable other endpoint (tcp/ip and named pipe).. check the server end-point..

I am not sure how to check that so I have contacted Microsoft. I have spent about 4 hours on the phone and have not resolved the problem yet. They are going to put it on wireless computers like mine and see if they can get it to contect to database.
