Close a Voucher

I want to close any voucher with a balance and that was issued more than 365 days ago.



I tried deleting the voucher from Item Properties/Serial, but if a cashier takes a gift card that has been deleted, the POS displays the deleted voucher twice, once with a zero balance and once with the unused balance. If the cashier selects the voucher with a balance the tender is accepted. Aaarrrgggh.



So, how do I edit the balance or otherwise void these old vouchers with balances?

I think the only way to close it without scripting would be to 'purchase' a dummy sku for the value of it.

You also might consider checking with your state laws regarding gift cards if they were purchased by a customer (basically if your state has an unclaimed property law, etc.).

Hi Tim

I have tried what you did here and it worked fine. The POS said the voucher had a 0 balance and did not give anything else. What version of RMS are you using?
