Debit card transactions

I installed a Verifone 1000se pin pad to process debot cards. I set up a debit card payment type in Microsoft POS. The pin pad seems to work. It has ready on the screen. When I process a debit card and select debit as the transaction, when the card is swiped it switches to Visa and processes as a credit card. How do I set it up to process as a debit card?

Jstone,

You can't swipe the card until the window pops up asking for the card number.

What brings up the window? When I enter the amount it does not allow the card number to be entered

Log on to manger and click Tender Types and click on debit card and makesure You have debit card under the Tender Type tab and Click in Verification tab and check on Perform Verification Via EDC then restart your POS and try for test transaction then call your Merchant to makesure transaction went through. Other thing sattle your batch before test transaction and after.

-- My problem is in POS not RMS. When I select debit for a transaction , enter thge amount and press OK I get the debit window but can't enter anything in it. I have tried this on two different PCs. Any idea would be appreciated Jeff

Jstone,

In POS when the debit window pops up I've seen it when it is not active and you have to click on it before it will let you enter data into it. Try this and let me know what happens. If you would like to give me a call please do so.

OK. I got the card to read and say enter pin but the pin pad does not give me time to enter the pin. It shows ready before the card is swiped and shows the price after but then errors out. Any ideas?

Jeff,

How do you have the driver setup?

Daniel
