Extended Descriptions not showing when transaction is recalled

I've enabled extended descriptions in my RMS setup and quite rightly when i ring up an item in POS the extended description shows up. Recently i've noticed that when i put a transaction on Hold and recall it, the extended descriptions dissappear leaving only the shortened regular description for the items. I found this strange because when i'm about to put the transaction on hold the extended descriptions are shown, why do they disssappear when i recall that same transaction?
