HQ dongle not recognized

I have HQ dongled plugged into parallel port of a back office workstation. This workstation is on the same network as Store Operations and has Store Operations installed on it so they can go into Store Operations Manager. Store operations works fine. (StoreOps Dongle on register 1 in front of store). Installed HQ Server/Manager on this same workstation (XP PRO). Attached HQ dongle to this workstation's parallel port. Store Operations still runs ok, but RMS HQ manager still is in demo mode. Tried to reboot everything still same prob. Could it be because 1 of 2 reasons: (1) It is one same network as StoreOps dongle? or (2) HQ needs to be reinstalled after HQ dongle is attached? (Originally installed HQ demo until dongle arrived). Thanks in advnace!

I don't think you can piggyback the two dongles. I also don't think you can add a second parallel port, because both dongles insist on LPT1. I could be wrong on both points. Never tried it.

I run Store Ops and HQ on one server. I have the Store Ops dongle on Register 1 (a POS station) and I have directed my sales staff to always start register #1 first. My HQ dongle resides on the server. This eliminates the need to launch RMS POS on the server every day.
