message pop when run POS

Hi, whenever I run POS it pop out message "Warning 941: The copy protection device that used to be on this register was not found. Do you wish to continue?" Basicly, I know that it might occur without dongle on the machine. However, my machine have the dongle attached all the time. It is also weird that if something is worng with the dongle then POS will appears the evaluation mode after 48 hours, but my POS does not have evaluation mode. I do not know what wrong? Is it my dongle or something else. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

The dongle needs to be on the first POS station to open each day.

  1. If you have customer source plan ask microsoft for new version 2.0 because 2.0 dont need dngle.
  2. unplug the dongle and put back again to same or different spot and restart the pc.
  3. Make sure You dont have same register number on your back office and POS.

Thanks Following the research here are some causes

- Dongle has been removed, disconnected, or positioned on the incorrect computer.

- Port on computer may be damaged

- Register number on computer may be incorrect

- Dongle drivers are set up incorrectly

- Network problem

- Dongle may be damaged.

I tried to follow each possibility; check the register number, change port, update dongle driver, check the network connection. However, I seemed not work. It still showed evaluation mode. I then attach dongle to other computer and connect to same database. The evaluation mode disappeared, I put back the dongle back to the work station. the evaluation mode is now not showned up. I could not figure out what reason. Does someone know what problem really is?

Thanks

Sounds like the dongle drivers on the original system are not correctly configured. Remember that Evaluation mode does not happen immediately

-you get a 48 hour grace period, so it may return now that you have moved the dongle back. On the other hand, pluging it back in may have fixed it. That happens sometimes. I think the dongles are possessed...

could be this: After hotfixes, dongles need to be re-installed.. Log-on as administrator, unplug and re-plug the dongle.
