Cash drawer won't pop

Cash drawer is going through Epson printer. The printer works fine and the cash drawer pops in test, but it will not pop with the printer. I have checked my LDN, used each device type and pretty much one through all the normal steps. The only thing I did not do was go backwards in with the OPOS ADK. I am using 240, which is working fine with the other machines.

Does anyone have any suggestions when all the normal ones are not working?

I will be out of the office so please respond to snipped-for-privacy@cargas.com

Cliff,

Do the tender types ask the cash drawer to pop?

Are you using parallel port? If a Windows printer is assigned the same port with an OPOS receipt printer (although the Windows printer is not hooked physically to the port), the Windows driver inteferes with the OPOS driver. To fix the the problem, choose Start >> Printers and Faxes. Right click the Windows printer which shares the same port and select Delete.

Hi all,

I need to explain more into my setup for those who can take up this challenge. I am running two tills connected to a local router, second one added in lately with another dongle licene key upgraded. Two PCs with Epson printers and cash drawers are configured exactly the same way. I just replicated the same setup for the 2nd till from the 1st till. The printers are connected to serial ports and the drawers are directly connected to the printers. Now the

1st till runs perfectly with receipt printer and drawer for months and still going well but the 2nd till have problem opening the till but the receipt printer is working fine. If you read my previous thread, the 2nd PC can talk to cash drawer and printer individually but not with RMS POS running.

The details configurations are below:

1)Database resides in 1st PC. 2)I checked the tender type, pop drawer checked for both cash and credit card sales. 3) I set printer as TM-88III at COM1 and give it a LDN. I set drawer as a standard device ( I also tried to set it as a multi-A) and also give a LDN which both cases don't open the till while the printer is working fine. 4) I even tried to restart the PC after changing the LDN hoping that will help but in vain.

The thing that puzzles me is that for the same setup, 1st PC is working fine and yet the 2nd one is not.....

Any help is appreciated and let me know if you need to clarify further. K> Are you using parallel port?

1) Make sure that the Cash Drawer is configured in Register Properties for Register 2. Make sure it is configured as Drawer1, not as Drawer2 Make sure you used the correct LDN

2) Uninstall Epson OPOS on Register 2

3) Reinstall Epson OPOS and make sure you select "Common Control Object ", Not the default "Epson Control Object" 4) Configure Printer and Cash Drawer again and Check Health in the OPOS Utility 5) Retry RMS

If you used the Common Control Object, the CheckHealth in OPOS Setup is successful and you assigned the correct LDNs in RMS, the devices should work.
