MS Retail Management System

Hello,

Do you need a server to run Microsoft Retail management system if you have more than one store and need to manage all stores from a central location? Let me know.

Thanks, Treost

Each store wil have Microsoft RMS Store Operation and at a central location you need to have Microsoft Headquarter. It is recommended that you have a server for that with Full Micrsoft SQL [not MSDE].

Thanks, afshin! So, if you buy MS RMS, do you get both the store operation and headquarters with it for the price of $1190. Please let me know.

Thanks, Tharaka

You definately need RMS Headquarters, which is a separate package that allows the management of multiple stores.

HQ will run on XP and MSDE, but by the time you are in a multiple store environment your requirements will almost certainly dictate a Server and a full version of MS SQL Server. Even for a two store HQ environment, we spec SBS 2003 Premium edition right out of the gate. Larger organizations may end up needing multiple servers to manage their interstore communications. You need to work with a qualified partner to assess your needs and plan the appropriate systems.

Tharaka,

No, Store Operations is sold per register lane. $1190 each for lanes 1-5, $1090 each lanes 6-20. etc.

3 lanes runs $3570 (1190 x 3) 7 lanes run $8130 (1190 x 5 + 1090 x 2)

HQ is sold by the number of stores. $3000 for the first 2 stores, $500 per additional store.

Don't forget the RMS Maintenance Plan too. 18% of the MSRP.

3 lanes runs $3570 x 18% = 642.60 7 lanes run $8130 x 18% = 1463.40

HQ 2 stores 3000 x 18% = 540.00
