The VeriFone page has the driver for the USB version www.verifone.com/technical-support.aspx under the Installation Instructions in the bottom right and also above it between the SC225 and the 610. It’s the same file.
The 1000 plugs into a COM port unless you are using a USB conversion cable. If so, that driver comes from the conversion cable company or you might try the instructions Verifone offers just above the USB driver mentioned earlier. You will still need to use the Configure OPOS Devices within the RMS Start menu options though for both.
BTW, if its a 1000 and not a 1000SE, is not PCI compatible after July 1. You need to replace it, Check with your processor. Also check your 1000SE for a 3DES sticker on the back of it. If it doesn't have one, it will need to be re-encrypted too.
