Plastic Gift Cards

I have one of my clients that is wanting to get some custom plastic gift cards printed in small quanties of 20 for different amounts (ie 20-$5,

20-$10, 20-$20 and so forth). I have searched the web but come up with nothing for these quanties as everyone just about wants to do a minimum of 250 cards of each amount. Does anyone know of a place that handles the short run amounts like I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

I did a lot of research before I bought my cards and found none that would do under 250 cost effectively. Most of them wanted huge setup amounts that just made it impractical to do so few. What I ended up doing was going with Profit Point. I was able to get 1000 for $495 with no setup fees. It was by far the cheapest I could find for that small of an amount. They even threw in 500 for free. I could have gone with only 500 but the cost per card almost doubled. What I'm considering for my next run of cards is to purchase my own plastic card printer. I haven't started my research yet so I have no idea of the cost to own your own printer. Maybe someone else would know what they cost. Craig

How do you use the cards - do they mag strips? DO they have their own ILC? What is the process for using them at the store?

I purchased a Zebra P120i card printer. It will print on both sides of the card. I also use card five software to make my own cards. I print a barcode on the back and assign the card a unique ILC. The software acts as a counter and increments the code automatically. You can print any logo on the card as well as photos. We activate the cards when we sell them. We use the voucher system built into RMS for the gift cards. No problems works great.
