Problem with lot - matrix items

When scanning a lot matrix item the register will stop and the cashier must select the correct "lot" to use. If the cashier is not looking at the screen and is just scanning items, they will hear the good scan from the scanner and go to the next item. If they scan a lot matrix item and hear the good scan, and then go to the next item WITHOUT selecting the proper lot, the register will select the default lot and not ring up the next item. Is there a way to have an alert when the cashier needs to input the correct lot?

Thanks,

Jay

There is no warning dialog box...this question has been asked a few times on here, one decent answer was to make the first default price 999.99 and continuing with the other items...the way you make it the first selection is by naming it in alphabetical order. In other words if you have a 6-pk of coke, first item could be 1coke = 999.99 / 2coke 6-pk = 2.99 / 3coke single .99 or what have you...this way if they continue to scan without looking, they will obviously know they screwed up, or the customer will let them know :) Hope this helps, best of luck!
