RMS and PC Charge integation error "timeout"

I have setup RMS to integrate with PC Charge. When I run the credit card on the pc charge side, everything works fine, however when I'm in RMS and swip the card it attempts to process but always timeouts?

Can anyone help?

Make sure the windows user you are logging into the register as has modify permissions on the PCCharge folder.

in SO Administrator, File/Configuration, EDC Tab... Make sure that the correct PCCharge directory is selected - the default setting is not correct. Click the Advanced button. Make sure that the correct processor is selected and that you have entered the correct Merchant account number.

In PC Charge... You need a User named the same as the register number. If you have Register number "1" in RMS, then you need to create a User named "1" - NOT the default "User 1". If you have not already done this, you will need to call veriphone tech support and ask them to 'comp' you a user so that you can integrate PC CHarge with RMS...

Hi there I am having the same time out issue.

I have made sure that the directory has modify permissions set.

I have called in to PCCharge and they gave me a comp use id which I named 1.

I have the set the correct drive/path and have the correct merchant id number.

So it appears I have it set correctly but I guess something is still not just right. Any other ideas?

Can you process a test transaction using the PC Charge interface?

Is this a new setup?

Do you get the timeout on ALL transactins, or do some work?

How many registers? Does the problem occur at all registers or just one?

What version of PC Charge ( I think 5.7.1.h is the most recent )?

What PC Charge edition ( PRO or Payment Server )?

PC Charge needs to be open, and needs to be showing "System Ready" in the status bar (lower left corner)

Yes I processed a test transaction using the PC CHarge interface and it worked fine.

We have been using RMS for about 2 years now, but just recently decided to add credit cards through RMS. We had just been using a stand alone terminal.

All transactions are timing out.

We only have one register

We are using version 5.7.1 I which was just released I guess and it is Payment Server

It says system ready down in the lower left corner

Well, the last thing that I can think of is that you must be logged into windows as an administrator for changes made in SO Administrator to be saved. Go back into SO Admin and recheck all of your edc settings... Is Payment Server running locally on the register, or on a different workstation? If it's on a separate workstation, you need modify rights on BOTH the Share and the Directory - you could have authentication issues between the two systems as well...
