RMS slows down while tendering F12

We are using the Epson TM-T88III printer with OPOS drivers. The system is running on windows XP. it is Store Operations 1.3. There use to be long discussions about this problem in the past which i cannot find, must have been removed from this discussion board for one reason or another.

Anyways... When tendering with F12, and then putting in the tender amounts, pressing OK. Once it is ready to start printing a reciept, the system will stop and take forever before it will finish and print the reciept. Any ideas of what can be done to help fix this problem? This problem doesnt happen consistantly. It is every few transactions or so.

Andy,

There have been numerous suggestions on the discussion boards relating to this problem. They vary from speeding the whole process up by changing all the baud rates to at least 19200 or making sure that the opos driver for the drawer(if the printer is powering a drawer) has the radio button set to high instead of the standard low.

I have tried all these and i am still not happy with the speed consistancy of finalising a sale. I accept that the first sale of the day will be slow but as you mentioned it is worse than that.

I know this reply doesn't help you much but hopefully others reading it will give us some other ideas to sort it out.

I found a very odd solution to this exact problem i was experiencing with the POS locking up while tendering a sale. It was as simple as changing the windows login information. For Example:

during windows bootup, We were using the User: Fish Tech Outfitters we changed the user account and made the login more simple. User: FishTech

no spaces, and shorter. For some odd reas> I have been trying to figure this one out doing all of the same things, and
