"Socket Not Found" AGAIN!

This is the second time this has happened. Our internet has gone down - 1st time for 5 days - 2nd time for 1 hour. When the internet comes back up - the stores can not talk to HQ. "Socket Not Found" is the message. I checked Firewalls, configuration...nothing has been change. I even ran a repair of HQ. Have absolutely no clue why this has happened. We have had no other other problems regarding connection after getting it up and running. Any ideas? Thanks and happy 4th!

When you ping the IP Address (numeric) or the FQDN (the string you have registered with DynDNS)? The FQDN may take some time to propagate (especially to clients on Verizon DSL networks for some reason) after you have changed the IP Address it is supposed to resolve to.

Are you using VPN or port forwarding?

Either way, power down the router at the HQ location. Wait a few minutes. Reconnect it.

One more thing to try - on HQ server, uninstall the network card from the device manager. Then reinstall it. It could be a driver problem.

However, it does point to a networking issue if you say it occurred after DSL outages.
