tracking of repairs

Hi I'm wondering if there is a way of tracking customer repairs using the rms software. i.e. when a customer brings in there computer for repair etc we can log the computer in and then add to the computer repair history so we know when and what has been done to that computer

thank you in advance

I would be interested in that as well - right now I am looking at using Workorder's as a work around. What are people using or doing to track this type of work/repair order.

Whats about fallowing scenario:

You have few items which describing your services: - 01: PC Collected - 02: Workshop collected item - 03: Equipment exchanged - 04: Windows Reinstallation - 05: Other

You process normal transaction where prices will be 0 for most items (services) so customer is not charged for any of these.

Some non-inventory item can be user as fee.

I the product comments you can put Serial number of the pc.

Run custom report: SELECT * FROM TransactionEntry WHERE Comment like '012455455442412 %'

That will show you list of works done with this serial number. You can have fun with that and put serial number to first line of the comment and details of work done in next lines.

Thanks, Arthur
