Using POS 2009 with First Data For Credit Card Processing

Hi,

I have POS 2009 and I set it up with First Data For Credit Card Processing (comes with the system) It seems to work ok but every now and then it will freeze in the middle of trying to Process a card and I have to restart POS and reenter the transaction and also every so often it will decline a card for invalid card number/expiration date but there is nothing wrong with the card (the card works on the my old standalone terminal).

I called Microsoft they tell me to call FDC (First Data) as they designed the program I call First Data they tell me to call Microsoft

My question is anyone else out there using POS 2009 with First Data have any issues at all? Or anyone out there with more info on his matter any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Joel

Yes. I work with a retailer in Madison who is experiencing intermittent problems when processing CC transactions. First Data said the same thing to me. In fact, one of the support people actually said POS 2009 SP1 wasn't supported.

I am planning to look into two things:

1.) Whether a new payment processor add-in is available via Partner Source AND

2.) PID device is working properly.

I hope something comes up roses because this is a real pain in the neck.

From my experience with First Data, don't expect any real help from them.

I use AccessGroup - which goes through Vital/NPC, they are more than helpful you get the same two people each time.

Just tell them you are using the Microsoft POS sytem and they will set you up with the vital information/applications.

Works with RMS 2.0 and POS 2009 as I have used it on both.
