Utilizing a remote second receipt printer

We are using MS POS at my wife's coffee shop. It was preinstalled on the Casio QT8000 hardware bundle that includes a Casio UP-360 thermal printer. We have a light lunch service of sandwiches and soup, and we would like to investigate the possiblity of using a second printer in our kitchen for food orders.

Currently, the existing printer is connected to the PC touchscreen flat panel via a serial cable. The printer also connects to the cash drawer and a power source. Can we split a serial connection to a second printer? What are the distance limitations to a serial connection?
