Warning Message

I am very new to RMS so I may be missing something very simple in regards to barcode scanner setup but I receive the following error when I start either the Manager or POS application:



Warning 928: The scanner was not accessible. It may be locked by another application. Do you wish to continue?



I receive the error even though there are no other apps running. If I click OK, the POS starts up fine and the barcode scanner functions properly (finds an item in database). Does anybody know what migh be causing this warning and what I can do to fix it?

Well, most scanners are not OPOS devices, they are just keyboard emulators (meaning they can type really fast...). In the Register properties, you should NOT configure the scanner tab - go there and just clear all fields on that tab. The error you are getting is just RMS telling you it can't connect to the device you told it to expect - because it's not that kind of device...
