I have installed QB Pro 2007 on my Desktop but want to know if it is a problem to uninstall and reinstall with another license number. I assume it is necessary to reinstall the new software in order to change the License number and I also have a large database - is this affected at all? Thanks so much.

The software is the same, so there should be no need to uninstall and reinstall.
In the QB help option, look for the tab 'Manage my license' and see if you can effect the changes you want there.
Can't QB void my license number? I understand if they do that, then I have 5 or 7 days to re-register with a new license number.
You DO realize that the license number is unique to the copy of QB you purchased? That the license is the number that is on the CD's, and that, if you don't want to use the license that came with your software, you will need a NEW copy of the software.
No. You shouldn't have to. But it just might be locked by Intuit so that you are forced. Your QBfile will not be affected by a reinstall (so long as you don't delete it!), but there should be a way to reset the license. I would call back the folks who are issuing your refund for the method.
Well - spent 2 hours on the phone with QB and they insist I have to uninstall and reinstall so - I have made the decision to keep the program I have and call it quits. They are very very polite at QB except for one Customer Service young lady who said "Well..this just is NOT my day!", but they say they cannot reset the license....thanks for your advice!
Why you couldn't make that decision before wasting the time of the good folks at Intuit boggles the mind. The 2 hours they spend with you could have been spent helping people with real problems.
How much didja save?
WOW, saved $5 and spent $500 on the phone!
