Quicken Skimming From the Middle With Forced Membership Fees

The original post in the above discussion is 100% bullshit.

The only reason I don't call the original poster a liar is that I have no way to know what was going on inside his head when he posted - theoretically, the op may just be disgustingly ignorant.

What I do know is that the op's claims are false - and his desires are unrealistic (to be kind).

Knowledgeable user Chris_QPW (a software developer in his own right) points out only part of the op's problem: the fact that the op's ignorance stretches to assume that the costs of providing what the op wants must be borne by Quicken ... with no idea what those costs are, and apparently no concern that other Quicken users would have to bear those costs.

Quicken is the owner of the software, and it is entirely Quicken's decision as to what features are offered and how those features can be employed. Quicken's logical and legal decision includes the right to control how the software can be used ... and by whom.

No one is obliged to purchase; or having purchased, to continue to use, Quicken. Those who do not like the product; those who do not think Quicken is worth the money, are free to stop using Quicken - free to use another product ... just as they are with any other product.

The world is increasingly populated by people who assume that they deserve what they do not deserve: the original poster in the above discussion is just one example.
