Q2005 - How to combine accounts and keep history?

I originally set up some mutual funds as separate accounts for each fund, now I'd like to consolidate them into just individual securities in one overall fund account for each issuing company. (ie - all Fidelity funds in one Fidelity account, etc.)

Is it possible to do that and keep all the transaction and price history? How?

Thanks for any info.

Try "Shares Transferred Between Accounts". (An investment transaction type in the "Enter Transaction" drop down list).

Thanks. I never noticed that transaction type. I'll try it.

What will the transaction date do on that item? I'd like to not lose the original transactions in all particulars.

I believe the transaction date will be the date used on the single "Removed" transaction in the "from" account and the multiple (one for each lot) "Added" transaction in the "to" account ... that is, it is the date you transferred the shares. But you will not lose the date purchased or the cost/lot; "Edit" a resulting transaction in the "to" account and notice the "Total Cost" and the "Date Acquired".

That sounds reasonable. Thanks again for the help.

Interesting--that is what I just did at the same institution on Friday! Ha!
