What you are doing is known as a "web connect". They'll stop when the "direct connect" stops. Or, to be more precise, Quicken will stop importing the data which you'll still be able to download.

Thanks. I'm having a hard time figuring how Intuit can control this. Do they push an update to Quicken that tells it to stop working online? Or maybe embed a signal in the web connect file that tells Quicken to quit importing? Or maybe change the file format each year? I'm not actually asking you to answer this, just that I'd be interested in knowing how this works.

Nothing stops you from doing the downloads. Q just refuses to do the import after a certain date.

As far as I know, the "sunsetting" (as it's known) is entirely internal to the Q software.

It will also prevent you from updating to Q.com. ALL online connectivity dies after the designated date.

After seeing the QFX file downloaded, Quicken contacts a server to verify the bank info and, presumably, your Quicken version. That is one reason for some of those 201 or whatever errors.

There may also be version codes in the QFX file itself.

Why would you expect that it would be in "display" format?

Do you also want Intuit to post a message in the executable reading "PATCH HERE!"

For that matter, how do you know that the date is even in gregorian format, and not julian (which is widely used in date computations).

Or, how do you know if the date is in MM/DD/YYYY format, vs MM/DD/YY, vs. YY/MM/DD.

In short, GIVE ME A BREAK. Your message only demonstrates your own ignorance.
