Q2009 Sync to Outlook

Why not just use the Motzarella account for your news server instead of the one for your ISP? Or at least fix your OE profile for that news account. I use 4 different news servers all having the same moniker.

< instead of the one for your ISP?

In my experience, my ISP has been more reliable for some things than Motzarella. When I can read the post in my ISP's newsgroup (and see enough history to satisfy me), I get better results when I respond there.

I intended the other news groups to provide some of the history that my ISP didn't keep.

Sometimes I forget what news group's posts I am reading ... and click "Reply to Group" in the "wrong" news group.

It's a good question.

Until you asked it, I had just forgotten about such things. Since I had never really intended to post using Motzarella, I never bothered to check my profile for that newsgroup.

Now that you have reminded me to do so, I will try to re-examine my reasons for setting that account up with a different moniker.

Thanks.

Your comment could not have been interpreted by anyone as being limited to rebooting Windows.

We're not able, nor should we be expected, to read your mind: if you wanted to address only the issue of rebooting ... why not just say so?

And, as I said: it's also not "silly" to consider rebooting: some changes require rebooting.

If you couldn't get something working, and you refused to try the thing that would make it work (long shot though it may be) ... who would care? I don't have any horse in this race.

Maybe what's silly is not to try something so simple and cost free as a reboot. And in the case of Syncing to Outlook - which you obviously could care less about - there would be no reason to reboot in the middle of your important work ... you could start the reboot when you were through for the day. Clearly you're not having trouble sleeping at night because you can't Sync to Outlook.

Then why didn't you post that when I asked?

You do remember that I asked you what steps you took to accomplish the sync to Outlook, don't you?

I'm not recommending the Sync to Outlook, but your reply sounds like you don't understand what the process does.

The only reason I mentioned Viewing Appointments by Category was so the other poster (and anyone else) could check to see whether their "sync" actually worked.

You don't have to have your calendar items Viewed by Category for the synced reminders to work: Viewing by Category is just a way to quickly see which Quicken reminders you have in Outlook.

An Outlook "Quicken Bill Reminder" should act exactly the same as any Appointment you manually add to your Outlook Calendar ... regardless of how you "View" your Calendar ... or even whether you look at your Calendar at all.

Has anyone, EVER, at ANYTIME, seen DeFool actually offer to assist someone else? Even such minimal assistance as asking for clarification of an OP's situation?

All that I can recall seeing is his requests for assistance (yet he has claimed to be the "unofficial representative of Quicken") followed by his berating anyone who answers. Alternatively, he chimes in and berates anyone how has offered assistance to another.

He takes, and never gives, and he flames those who attempt to assist others.

Is there anyone to banish him?

"DeFool". Hey, that's clever. Did you come up with that all by yourself? How long did it take? Days? Weeks? I'm sure you worked diligently on that for a long time...

Such a smart person like yourself surely can manage to do a little research to verify such a claim, can you not? Oh and dickwad, I never claimed to be the representative of Quicken. Go back and re-read and stop making invalid claims based on your own poor reading skills. It just reflects badly on you.

Great English there bud. Go back to school.

I've done my helping, lots of it and got nothing but grief for it. No good deed goes unpunished as they say. I'm done helping others.

You can't banish me numnuts. This is Usenet. This is an unmoderated group. Nobody can "banish" anybody. I suggest you look into the soul of your software an learn how to use a killfile. Otherwise you're stuck listening to me (unless you can muster enough will power to simply skip over what I say).

Hmmm.... "db". Guess that stands for Dick Beater! Childish you say? No more childish than you I say!

With all due respect all around, in additon to John and R.C., I have received good help from danbrown, someone who signs Andrew, AND, for many years some while ago, Andrew DeFaria, who in addition to his presence in this NG, also had (has?) a Quicken wiki site.

One characteristic of old age is that with diminishing short-term memory one makes new friends every day, AND with untouched long-term memory, one does remember when someone helped.
