This happened to me with both R2 and R3: Quicken told me that an update was ready. Quicken downloaded the update but failed to install it. No explanation. Downloading and installing the mondo patch from the Intuit web pile was successful.
Sloppy Intuit, very sloppy. You have had two chances to get this right. How hard can it be?
