Printing Journal Problems

Jul 04, 2006 4 Replies

Well theres two sides this this tale.

Many of the retailers we supply to have very simple pos only setups, using store manager for only TII, TIO, POs etc. With this, they only normally have 1 printer, a receipt printer.

What we have done to solve this problem is develop an XML template for the PO prints etc, set up with a Epson T88 as a windows printer.

This all works absolutely fine with most of our customers except one. For whatever reason, the Journal now refuses on their printers. Its inceredibly bizarre, as it is set up identically as our other retailers, but none of this retailers stores can print from the journal!

Has anyone seen this? Is there something I am missing?

Alternatively, is there anyway you can print to OPOS within Store Ops Manager? This would make things much easier!

Any help is appreciated!

Matthew,

Can you display the Journal (F4 in POS) to the screen? What happens if you press the Print button in the Journal viewer?

Is Journaling turned on in the Register | Printer 1/2 properties

Hi Jeff,

Journalling is turned on and is using the correct receipt template. Pressing print sends a document to the Windows printer. If I watch the print queue, I can see that it gets sent, processd and deleted, but still nothing prints.

Very Frustrating!

Matt

Matt,

I think I would re-install the Windows printer driver first.

Thats what I thought. I tried it on one site and that didn't fix it. I used the same install package here and it worked. plus the problem is across 5 sites. A bit too coincidental to be a bad driver installation.

Its strange. :-/
