RMS PCCharge issue

I presently have three registers running RMS 1.2.0151 and PCCharge Pro 5.7.1. They work just fine.

I am trying to add a new shop on the same phyical network. The new register is running RMS 1.3.203. The new shop is on its own database. I added PC Charge license for the new register, copied all the settings, merchant IDs, etc. directly from the working registers.

The new register won't run cards. It acts like it's connecting, and then returns the error Denied 205 (No Reponse

I tried installing the PC Charge Client on the new register and running a card through that, and it works perfectly, so I know that the connection to the PCC server isn't the problem.

Obviously something is up with the connection between RMS and PCC, but I can't find it. I also can't find anything anywhere on what error code 205 means.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Well, it probably has something to do with User names in PC Charge not matching up with Register numbers in RMS - or possible two "Register 1"s colliding. This sounds like a shaky setup to me - typically if you have 2 shops you have 2 merchant accounts - watch oput for the credit card police...

Nope. I've checked that, and if it were a matter of the register numbers colliding, you would get a different error message.

We had a similar problem in the past. For us, the problem was how the User name was coded. We had to use REG00001, REG00002, etc. as the User names in PCCharge or else it wouldn't work. If we just used 1, 2, 3, etc. we would occaisionally get a connection error.

No joy.

When I changed the PCC user names, everything stopped working. I got the "user not found" error message, which is what you would expect. I've put everything back the way it was, and my three old registers are working just fine. The new one is still giving me Denied-205

Does anyone know what the heck error 205 is?????

Try adding new PCCharge users, you cannot change the existing users as PCCharge's current link to the initial RMS will break.

You cannot use the same or current PCCharge users to run a second, seperate RMS store/database. You need a second batch of PCCharge users to match up to the 2nd RMS. Likely you will need more PCCharge licenses to do this.

G'luck
