Setting Up a offline Database with SQL Express

I need to setup a offline database with RMS 1.3 and I was told I need to install SQL Express to do this. Can anoyone give me some directions for this. I was also told when I install SQL I would have to tweek it but was not told what the to do can anyone help me out here?


Hi Dakor, The RMS 1.3 comes with MSDE version of sql so I am not sure why you are going on SQL express anyhow if you haven't installed the MSDE then you can just install the SQL Express edition. you will find the instance and all services in Service Manager. Then go to your SO Administrator program and login to database if default instance installed then you can connect to db by local and provide the user id and password , default is sa no password but you can set the password if connection is done then you can create the blank RMS database then conenct to live server or go to configuration of Administration to enter offline dbserver name as local machine and database name which you just created. Login to POS and as soon as you at the POS perform Z-OUT it will sycn the data to offline. This is how it works. In RMS1.3 cd MSDE is availble at \MSDE_PKG folder.
