SQL Network Connection Error

Everyday, at around the same time, usually between 5-6pm, conveniently after I already went home we get a 'Database Connection lost, application will be closed, error # 2147467259.' I followed the SQL checklist Jeff provided, but it seems to be something else... Is this an auto close problem? I checked the main server database and this is set to off. Does this have to do with the offline databases, or the fact that some machines are running different versions of SQL? We have about 20 machines with RMS installed, so I wonder if it's one particular machine, any way to find this out?

I appreciate your help.

for those of you getting neurotic sql errors with sql server on windows 2008, try this: open ingoing & outgoing ports 1433 & 1434 on the server's firewall. :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

We have SQL 2005 on the server, I'm pretty sure I did something when we replace a couple of the old workstations with new ones. I don't know if it is in naming or installing.

The thing is it must be a local issue, because for instance, I just got a call from a manager who said they got this network connection error message and it kicked them out of manager. However when I checked the computer I could connect... Does this sound like a timeout issue? Also, like I've said before, sometimes it happens to 4 or 5 of our POS lanes too, not all of them which would tell me it has something to do with the server.

This issue is driv> for those of you getting neurotic sql errors with sql server on windows 2008,
