I don't have a clue what is happening to my Quickbooks Pro 2011 Accountant version. Right now I am getting a 80040154 error when I try to open Quickbooks Pro. I have had to delete and reinstall this program several times on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. I am not having this problem with the XP machine. Any ideas on what is going on?

Got it! Installed MSXML.msi file. The question remains as to why it keeps dying after working for a while.
A quick search on the QB support site indicates that msxml4.0 SP3 is the correct xml version to have installed. I wonder if you had an older version installed that was causing the problem. The error code you received indicates that the QB installation needs to be repaired. You might try that next time you run into problems.
I ran the update, then the MSXML fix. The problem is that this is happening with an annoying regularity.
I just noticed that you are running win7 64 bit. Is this Pro or Home Premium?

Let me do some asking around. You are the second one on this group that is having problems with win7 Pro.
A friend posted the following on another board: The MSXML.msi file issue is one of the 1603 Error problems that is associated with program corruption from install and/or update failures..sometimes this occurs from installer failure or CD issue. Typically the Windows Repair will not resolve this....you almost always have to perform a complete uninstall and clean install. The clean reainstall from the downloaded product seemed to resolve the issue.
