Can't "Download Quotes"

Jan 03, 2006 10 Replies

As of today (1/3/2006), Quicken 2006 premiere is not downloading quotes successfully. When I hit the "Download Quotes" button, the normal screen comes up showing the connection and what it is doing (Download Quotes, and Download Historical Prices), but it is very slow. Eventually both tasks get a red check next to them, but the screen freezes up at "Saving..." and the dialog box never goes away.

I have re-booted and validated the file.

Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Thanks,

Phillip

I was getting ready to make a post myslef. At least now I know I am not alone.

Same here.

This happens every year. At the beginning of the new year, either because everyone is updating prices or because Intuit is doing something with pricies, quotes doesn't work. And then a few days later it does. They probably don't have enough bandwith or something.

Same here with Quiken Premier 2004

I've seen this happen before, and it's usually something to do with the Intuit server. There's nothing to do but wait patiently.

I have the same problem. I sucessfully downlodaed some around 4:45 PM EST and then tried several times starting around 5:45 PM EST with no luck.

From the Intuit Technical Support webpage (which I assume folks went to prior to posting here about a problem and didn't see this? This was first on the 'hot list' dated 1/3/2006:

Question What if my security prices are not updating when I download quotes?

Answer There are currently server issues affecting many online services within the Quicken software.

Affected services include security quotes download, online banking services, Quicken Bill Pay and the ability to view web pages in the Quicken program.

If you receive an error message or Quicken takes a long time to complete the online task, try your online activity again in a few hours or the next business day.

Intuit is aware of this issue and working on a solution.

Thanks for all the replies. At least I know it wasn't just me. Anyway, it did finally work.

It would be nice if an error message was actually displayed instead of just hanging on the "Saving" screen. It made me believe there was something wrong with my data file.

Thanks aga> I've seen this happen before, and it's usually something to do with the

It seems to be working again as of about 20 minutes ago.
