Download Quotes

Has anyone been able to download quotes to Quicken this weekend. I've been receiving error '1760 The server is unable to complete the request' since Thursday.

Using Quicken 2002 Deluxe. Please don't tell me I have to upgrade, I won't - not ever again for this piece of **** software.

Thanks.

No. I am using 2008. I just wanted to let you know that there was no problem with server. Is it possible that verizon is causing the problem? Do you have an alternative internet connection that you can try?

My point in asking is the 3 yr cycle of downloading quotes support.

For example, I use Q'06. This downloads from qw2006.quicken.com = 65.197.236.91 I would propose that you download from qw2008.quicken.com = 65.197.236.97 Both are two distinctly different servers on the Quicken.Com Domain.

Thus, just because you can download quotes via Q'08 does not mean that a different version will equally be able to download quotes.

qw2002.quicken.com = 65.197.236.59

Is it possible to patch Q'06 to download from the '08 server?

I use '06 and it's been quite a while since the quotes were complete. And the 52-week highs and lows? Good only for a laugh.

I weas thinking about this.

Knowing the IP address of qw2008.quicken.com = 65.197.236.97 One could place an entry in the etc/hosts file to redirect an older version of Quicken to a different server. Of course the IP address could be hard coded into the application.

The only question is will the server accept the communication stream and will there be detrimental problems concerning program updates.
