CC update no longer works

Have been using this CC for years and have had no trouble at all until the last week or so. This one reports, that the web page has changed and a pop up needs my conformation??? Went to web page directly, nothing indicated. So deactivated the account with the hope of activating it again and that this would "fix" the problem. Every activation now adds an additional account instead of reestablishing with the existing account. After 5 tries, gave up and am now on "Direct Connect" Seems like in the past when I did this there was a option to "link" it to an existing account instead of a completely new one. ?? (3rd week on 2015). Tx

which Credit Card - and which issuing bank ? Some banks have been adding layers of security, that kinda break the old One-Step-Update, and force you to use other modes... like Web Connect or Direct Connect.

It is Capital1 (GM Card) MasterCard. The problem I am having is that I deactivated it in the hopes that I could re-activate and cure the problem, but every activation produces a new entry in Q15. Don't want 2 duplicate accounts. Is there a way when the new activation takes place to link it to the old account.

You can try this.

Backup.

At the foot of the Quicken Account Bar (or in the Account List), initiate the "Add an Account" process for your credit card financial institution.

When Quicken receives the setup info from the financial institution, you should get a display listing all your eligible accounts found at that financial institution. In one column, for each account found, should be a drop down that allows you to Add, Link, or Ignore the account: choose "Link" and select your existing Quicken account.
