Citi Direct Download problems with 3 or more accounts

Dec 22, 2005 5 Replies

Is there anyone else experiencing problems lately with Citi Direct Download?

I can do One-Step-Update, occasionally, with all my accounts activated. BUT, recently, I have had to limit myself to just 2 accounts. SOMETIMES, when I try to do more than 2, I get error messages. SOMETIMES, all accounts download properly.

It's just a minor annoyance to de-activate, and re-activate my Citi cards.

Hi Bob,

I have no trouble downloading 3 Citi Direct accounts on a regular basis BUT...............

I routinely get a message on at least one of the accounts telling me that my FI has rejected my request,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,even though the data has downloaded just fine.

There are definitely gremlins at work on the Citi site.

Richard:

Thanks for the reply. I have to agree that Citi is not nearly as smooth nor fast as FirstUSA.com. I hope that remains the case when I'm transitioned to Chase.com in the new year.

Hi Bob,

Be aware that Chase is doing its own transition....................from JP Morgan Chase to simply Chase

Along with the name change there are some important changes in setting up Quicken for direct download.

This is no place to go into detail about the changes required but be sure to get written documentation from Chase (either by post or by printing out pages on the web site) as to how Quicken needs to be set up. They also have an 800 number to talk to if you have trouble getting it to work (as I did)

HTH,

Richard

I got transitioned from FirstUSA.com to Chase.com with no warning whatsoever. One day, downloads simply broke, and I couldn't log into the FirstUSA site. Tech support claimed I'd never had an account on that site at all! Strange, since I'd logged in successfully the day before and had been for some months....

Anyway, the transition was not painless, as when I changed the FI to Chase.Com, Quicken Billpay magically got turned on. This is a documented bug. Intuit's fix is to export all transactions from the affected account to a new account, activate online service on the new account and delete the old account. I found this out after I fixed the problem myself my deleting my *.QEL file and letting Quicken recreate it. Simply deactivating and reactivating online access for the affected account *did not* fix the problem.

Anyway, I hope you aren't affected by this bug. It seems to selectively affect users. ;-)

Regards,

Margaret

This sounds kind of scary to me. I am still using FirstUSA.com but have not really been using the credit card; last I checked everything was still working for me (without warning :).
