In password vault it does not accept the password, which works when manually logging in at Discovercard website. In update now, it lets me enter the password, but then puts up a screen asking me to enter the password. I did follow the instructions to deactivate and reactivate. I am using Quicken 2014 R7 Windows 8.1. Note this is for my wife's discovercard. For my 2 discovercards, it said the new passwords did not follow the rules, do I want to use them anyway. I said yes and it took them and updated.
Discover Card Requires password change. Quicken will not accept change.

It sounds like Quicken allows FIs to send their own rules & then tries enfo rce them in Password Vault.
If that's the case, I suspect Discover has given Intuit a configuration tha t excludes something in your password.
You'd like to think that a big as Discover is & as popular as Quicken is, t hey'd be in sync, but I've found instances where that hasn't been the case.
I'd call Discover & walk them through the issue. I got them to "partially" fix an issue with Transaction Dates vs. Posting Dates several months ago. It took a while, but once the tech support person said "Ah, I see...", the y made a change that reduced my headaches.
In the meantime, you'll probably be stuck with manual Q downloads or you'll need to change your password (hopefully to something that's still relative ly strong).
