Downloading Issues

I have been noticing that the download both from my Bank (Wells Fargo) and quotes have been lacking quite a bit lately. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Also, I still have the program crashing almost every time it does a One Step Update. Anyone else still having this issue. I am running 2011 Deluxe on a XP SP3 machine.

John, what do you mean by "lacking quite a bit lately"? The only issue I've noticed is Wells Fargo's stock quote (on their website) don't update in a timely manner. But that's not a Quicken issue.

Here in PA we are in the middle of the transition from Wachovia to Wells Fargo. I've been assured I will be grandfathered to free Quicken Access once all my accounts transition, but for now, with my Visa transitioned, but not checking, I have lost free d/l from WF. I have my doubts that this will work as smoothly as the boiler plate inserts into my monthly statements suggest.

I update 13 accounts with my one step update plus quotes. I have noticed that since I moved to Q2011D that not all the accounts appear to update correctly (fully) and the stock quotes are hit or miss. Sometimes are right on sometimes they are a full day off. I have lost all updates from my Wells PMA credit card. I received a note from them that seems to indicate I need to reactivate the download service. Not sure what is going on there.

Personally I think it has something to do with the fact that the program crashes just about every time I do a one step update. I know this is a known issue but we are up Rev 7 of the software and they can't seem to fix it.

They must be busy working on the Mint stuff instead.

Can't you still download the Wachovia accounts from Wachovia? Mine still works that way. Yes, you have to have aWF account for the credit card, but the rest works as usual where we are in CA.

Wells Fargo recently merged their computer operations with Wachovia. They made several changes to financial institution information. It is possible that this affected you. I had to disable access, and then reestablish it.

They also have some problems with some financial holdings. First Trust, and Advisers Disciplined trust come through as 1/100 shares. Quicken offers placeholders, but I just ignore that. I spoke with Wells Fargo, and they are aware of the problem. Other than that, I've got everything working with them, since disabling and enabling direct connect.

Stock quotes did have some issues a few weeks ago, but they seem to be working again.

Sorry, I was a little imprecise, yes I can still d/l my Wachovia based accounts; Checking, Savings, and HELOC. What I lost was Quicken access to my Visa card that is now managed by the WF site. Received notice that my HELOC moves next, and I assume I'll lose free Quicken access to it, as happened with my Visa card. My fear is that WF will not figure out how to reconnect all accounts in our "relationship" once everything is transferred.

My daughter recently went through the Wachovia to WF transition in NJ, and every thin works fine. However, she did not have Wach CC.

I was converted this weekend. My CC converted earlier. What I expect is that my checking will continue to have direct download and bill pay, grandfathered from Wachovia. My CC only has Web Connect access - which really is hardly access at all. But I only have it so its credit line will provide free checking!

Chase Freedom (maybe grandfathered?) with its 1.25% cash back is my main card. Capital One with 1% back is secondary, and primary out of US since it has no foreign fees.

Jim - thank you for the update. I will do the same and reactivate the accounts. I don't care much about the quotes from day to day. I was only thinking that perhaps they are related. It sounds like that is not the case.

Updates for my Bank of America VISA card have been touch and go for many months. Quicken cannot seem to update that account reliably. Indeed, the update fails to occur more than five or six times more frequently than it occurs without error.

Or perhaps BofA is not able to supply the correct data.

[But BofA is known to only download credit card transactions that have already appeared on their statement.]

Do you have any evidence that it is an Intuit/Quicken problem? If so, please supply it.

It is already well known that some BofA financial institutions (there are at least a half-dozen) are having problems downloading to Q2011.

As a BofA-All Other States customer, I can attest to the fact that I have no problem getting Direct Connect downloads from BofA, to Q2008, Q2009, Q2010, or Q2011.

I have also successfully downloaded a QFX file from BofA-All Other States, and imported that file into Q2011 RPM R8 U.S. Indicating that Web Connect downloads from BofA-All Other States are also working as designed for Q1011.

In all cases: Windows XP Pro SP3.

Yes, I know BofA only downloads transactions that are on the statement. I wait until I receive the statement before I expect to see the transactions in the download.

I have BofA- All Other States, and the downloads are most unreliable. An example, last week when I reconciled the account, only two of the ten transactions that appeared on the statement were downloaded.

Other months, no transactions appeared in the download, even though there were ten or so on the statement.

Have you checked the OFXlog to see whether all the statement transactions were in the download?

There have been quite a few recent reports of BofA download problems; but too many of the reporters do not give the specific BofA fi name, do not specify the account type, or do not specify the download method. So I don't have a good idea whether you are experiencing the same problem they are (but I think those folks have only been having their problem for a month or so).

If you are having the problem BofA acknowledged, I don't think there is much you can do until BofA fixes it.

One Intuit suggestion was to use "Update Now" (or "Update Transactions") instead of One Step Update (at least one time, to reset the account).
