Home Inventory & Billminder Failure

Jun 07, 2008 2 Replies

I am no longer able to use either of the above in qkn 2008p r7 with Vista 32 bit. I receive an error message "Quicken Home Inventory/Billminder has stopped working. A problem has stopped the program from working correctly. Windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is available." I tried uninstalling & reinstalling in a different folder with the same result. Both of these programs worked in mid-April as that is when I added an item to the inventory. Any ideas on how to access QHI will be much appreciated.

Did you install a Logitech product? Logitech puts a program (setpoint.exe) in RAM at startup that conflicts with, at least, QHI. Stop Setpoint.exe from running (either temporarily, or permanently) and you'll be able to run QHI (not sure about Billminder).

Thanks for the suggestion -- de-selecting Logitech Setpoint from startup allowed me to open billminder but trying to open home inventory resulted in another error message that windows could not find qhi.exe. I ended up having to start qkn as administrator to open home inventory -- I had been using qkn & qhi in a standard user account prior to this. This has been a pain.
