One Step Update: Can I eliminate "FI needs update" prompt?

Hi,

I have Quicken XG 2004 (Canadian).

When I do a One Step Update I get a message saying that one of my Financial Institutions needs to be updated. I no longer deal with the financial institution in question (account closed) and I have hidden it in Quicken. Is there any way that I can remove this defunct item from my financial institutions list? You would think that if you've hidden the account this part of Quicken would NOT pick it up... (BUG #1)

I've tried bringing up the overview window for this account and changing the Online Services settings, but when I blank out the Account Number, Routing Number and Customer ID number fields & save my settings, the numbers just come back as if it refuses to delete them. I really thing this is a bug (BUG #2)

PS Remember the old days when you could call Intuit and report a bug in their software and you wouldn't have to pay $19.95 USD for the privilege? They're so arrogant these days... I would switch to Microsoft Money in a heartbeat if I could but I have over 10 years worth of investment data that I can't transfer due to yet another bug.

I know that some old veteran Quicken user will probably tell me to supervalidate my file. Just wanted to shortcircuit things and advise that I have done so and that there are no data inconsistencies.

Please join me at the brick wall so we can bang our heads on it. I have complained about this and other related bugs, but this is the wrong place for complaining. It's preaching to the choir. You'll have to call Intuit if you really want to lodge a complaint. It will cost big bucks and probably won't help.

I experienced this when I ran Q04. After I upgraded to Q05, the problem went away. I don't know if it was fixed by the upgrade process, or, because Intuit fixed this bug in Q05. But either way, it was fixed by upgrading to Q05....

Intuit has a web site for reporting bugs which can be reached directly from the Help/Submit Feedback menu in Q2005 and it costs nothing. I have reported probably 5 to 10 bugs and 30 or 40 enhancement requests. Don't know if they are listening, but I hope "the squeaky wheel gets the grease."

The link is below. Clearly it knows what version I am using, so that link might not be appropriate for you. I tried editing the version information and I still got to a page with options for filing bug and enhancement reports.
