Q2005 R4 (Win2K) Won't Install

Aug 05, 2005 4 Replies

I've tried updating either directly through Quicken or manually via downloading the file QW2005R4PATCH.exe doesn't install successfully. I get a box saying "The update for Quicken 2005 was not completed." I've tried multiple times but without success.

Anyone else run into this a could provide the magic incantation? Thanks,

Never mind. Trying again after a reboot fixed the problem.

I tried rebooting too, but in my case I still got the error about failure to install. Going to try the manual download next and then see what happens.

OK, had to turn off Norton Antivirus, configure it not to automatically start at bootup, and then reboot the machine. The Quicken update installed successfully then.

*Most* new program installations, these days, should be done with anti turned off.
