I'm running 2006 Deluxe R1. I've tried installing the R3 Patch both automatically, and by downloading the patch and installing it manually. Each time I get the same error that Q6 has failed to close, and the installation terminates. I've even logged out of Q6 when trying to install the patch, and nothing appears to be running.
Help!
Try running it with all AV programs turned off, or in Safe Mode.

Maybe use Task Manager and kill all QW.EXE processes. I had the same problem. QW.EXE isn't very good sometimes of closing it own program any you might find it has one or two instances running at the same time. As a matter of fact, I just closed Quicken and I noticed it is still running a process sucking up 30-40 megs. As soon as I closed those, the patches always seem to work...
