Egg Increased Credit Limit

Feb 28, 2004 3 Replies

Does anyone have any experience of increasing their credit limit with Egg.

I want to increase mine to take full advantage of their 0% offer. Is every offer decided by Egg staff or the computer?

I currently have a 10k limit and would like to increase it to the maximum but if i apply for 100k, i don't think they will accept me.

How much extra should i ask for, 10%, 20% etc so that i get accepted?

I understand that the absolute maximum credit limit that Egg offer is only

15,000 - direct from Customer Services: "At Egg we offer credit limits from 500.00GBP to 15000.00GBP this is depending on a number of factors regarding the customers application.".

Dunno, never tried it, but it might be worth temporarily placing a sum greater than the credit limit you're after in one of their savings accounts.

This assumes that your income is sufficient to pay interest on the full amount of the debt, otherwise I doubt if any other criteria will be sufficient..

Most will only look at an increase every six months regardless of whether you were succesfull at last request. So ask for enough to last 6 months.
