Change closing amounts after Z

Probably a stupid question, but one of my cashiers closed the register without entering closing amounts and now our Z report reads that we were short. Does anyone know of any way to go back and change those totals, after a Z has been done?

Jen: Not a stupid question. if it was, there would be a lot of stupid people asking that same question. To answer your question in short - it's not easy. You have to get into the guts of the database and make changes via SQL. These changes need to be made in several places. Unless you are very comfortable with database administration, I recommend you forget about it and move on.

Now to all the rest of us who have seen this question over and over again, how much wax buildup is in Microsoft's ears? I can't comprehend how so many have requested this feature and they are doing nothing to address it.

Jen, To help prevent this from happening in the future you can set you can configure RMS to not allow a Z unless the totals match the shift totals. Go to Database | Cashiers | Open each cashier and under Over/Short Limits select Limit percent and put in 0.00% . After you restart POS you won't be able to Z unless the drawer is right. If a problem comes up you can then find the offending transaction and fix it. Craig
