Conflicting IP Address

There are a couple different approaches to this. The first thing is to check the IP address set-up on you network.

This is like the set up we use:

-Make sure each computer has a unique static IP address (the gateway address is the LAN address of your router). You will find the settings in the TCP/IP properties for the LAN connection:

Office ip: 192.168.100 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.0.1 Register 1 ip: 192.168.101 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.0.1 Register 2 ip: 192.168.102 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.0.1

-On the router, add the static IP address' above and MAC address (physical address) of each computer to the routers static DHCP client list. To get the MAC address of a computer start a command prompt and type: ipconfig /all

-On the router, disable DHCP server and enable static DHCP . This way the router will use the static IP address' you assigned above.

There are some more security settings worth looking at as well.... As you know Vince I am not the most eloquent when it comes to explaining things, but this should point you in the right direction to solve this.

Do you have a static IP address through your ISP? I was told that if you don't, the ISP could periodically change your IP address

That is a possibility, but that does not happen too often and it only affects the router's WAN side.
