EDC Verification Failed

I am trying to setup EDC thru Vital using a non preferred bank, but i get this error when i try to auth a transaction: "Connection Error: 501 - Bad BIN or Host Disconnect."

I am wondering about two possible causes. A) Our bank says that the Merchant number has 13 digits, but the configuration screen only allows for 12. B) they did not supply us with a terminal number, which should be 4 digits. I entered 0001, as in this is our first terminal.

Whats the BIN? Would it be the Acquirer Identification Number? This seems to be correct. Does anyone have more information on this error? Does anyone have a 13 digit Merchant number?

Thanks,

Eddie,

The BIN number is the Bank Identification number and is required.

If the MID leads with a zero, delete it.

I've attached a setup sheet to send to your bank and/or processor. Get _all_ of the information.

hi Jeff

I have a 6 digit "Acquirer Bank Identification Number", which i am assuming that is the BIN. MID leads with an 8. i tried taking off the 8 instead of the

2 at the end but i get the same error. This is probably where the problem is, because i think that using 0001 for the terminal number is ok (?)

i am about to switch to a preferred bank to get this over with, but i heard it here that any bank using vital would do.

thanks,

actually i was able to sort it out with the bank. i the MID and the BIN had been incorrectly passed to us.
