Previously we could only use gift certificates at the store they were recieved into the system at.
Can anyone tell me if 2.0 address this issue ?
Or can anyone share a work around ?

No - Gift Certificate are still store only. You you want enterprise wide we have an add on program that includes that [store and hq utilities]
