FI transactions in one account duplicated randomly in others

[Quicken Premier 2018 R11.18 Bld 27.1.11.18 on Win 10 PRO 64-bit]

When starting One-Step Update have begun receiving downloads (Direct Connect) from our main FI and found transactions in one account duplicated randomly in other(s). Transactions included buys, sells and dividends.

Situation became apparent when some accounts wound up with negative cash balances because of "phantom" buys. Others showed up because they entailed securities NOT held by account where they appeared.

FI advisor got FI IT to call me. They couldn't figure stuff out and promised to check further and never got back. We checked during the call that each Quicken account was properly linked to the account at the FI.

Web Connect downloads from the same time period do NOT show phantom transactions, and I wonder if ...

  1. FI when generating Direct Connect downloads on the fly hiccups and inserts spurious stuff

... OR ...

  1. Quicken is confused when processing Direct Connect downloads.

I have not yet done - but plan to - Web Connect downloads and THEN have Quicken process them.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? ANYONE WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?

Thanks

AL

If your problem is with Wells Fargo Advisors, I think the problem has already been determined to be a Wells Fargo problem.

The financial institution is 100% responsible for the contents of Direct Connect downloads: Quicken would be an unlikely culprit in a problem such as this.

Our advisors at Wells Fargo indicate that WF has identified a number of problems with the Quicken download (download to Quicken, to be precise) and will have corrected these issues by August 28.

Here's hoping.....
