Just a little tidbit of info. for future reference:

In a Usenet Group, saying "the above message" is not a useful piece of information. Messages arrive at various news servers in various orders. Users can (and do) set their client readers to sort the message list in different ways. SO......... The "above message" for you might be (and probably IS) something entirely different for someone else !!

If it is a small piece of info. (as it seems to be in this case), it would be better to QUOTE it............only, instead of quoting the entire message tree.

Cheers!

And Art posted that he had run the Quicken update already. He also said that he was running Quicken 2007 so Intuit might not have fixed that version yet.

Jon was refering to HIS 12/22 post that applied to Quicken 2008. Since Art was posting concerning Quicken 2007 Jon's message was not very useful.

Laura, if you reread my post of 12-22-2007 12:01 PM, you will see the following lines which I have excerpted from the Quicken statement. As you can see the update applies to 2007 and 2008. Jon Reinhardt

We have identified a solution for the following products:

a.. Quicken 2008 (Deluxe, Premier, and Home & Business) b.. Quicken 2007 (Starter Edition, Deluxe, Premier, and Home & Business)

To resolve this issue for the above listed products, please complete a One Step Update within the Quicken Product by clicking on Online from the menu bar, and select One Step Update, then click Update Now in the One Step Update Settings window. After the update is complete you will be able to view the help topics once again.

I have Q2007 R5, IE7, all the Microsoft fixes applied. Done the One Step Update for the last 3 days in a row, but Help still doesn't work for me. I've sent the problem to Intuit, waiting to hear back from them.

Hi Jon,

I missed the (b) part of your message. I saw the part concerning the 2008 patch and stopped reading the message. Sorry about that.

I am using Q 2006 Deluxe. Although IE7 is on my system, Firefox is my default browser.(I only open IE7 from within Firefox via IEView for a couple web sites that do not display properly in Firefox).

My interpretation of the last paragraph in the response immediately below would be that help should work with my set up, but it does not.

Is my interpretation correct...is there something else I can/should do to get help working from within Q 2006?

TIA... Jim

Since you are not using IE7 why don't you just uninstall it and revert back to IE6?

I finally got my Q2007 Dlx help working.

The FAQ has been updated to download the help files if the "One step Update" doesn't work:

It did one thing wrong though.

I downloaded the 2007 Zip file and than ran it. It unzipped Vista & XP programs. I ran the Vista version (QW2007-bdph-help_Vista.exe).

It created a directory named C:\Program Data\Intuit\Quicken\help and put the files there. But, the directory should be:

C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\help

No space between "Program" and "Data". I manually copied the 2 files it put in that directory to the correct directory and my Q2007 help works.
