Keep talking. When monkeys write Shakespeare, I'll get back to see what's going on.

Comparing the intelligence of Mac users to that of flies... Hmm... I wouldn't step that low, but... looks like someone did.

Reminds me of a joke the Austrians have:

Q: What happens when an Austrian border guard crosses over into Germany? A: The average IQ in both countries rises.

You mean you object to comparing like with like?

Given the people who read and post to this group, "idiot" seems hardly adequate as a description. If Holmes had been using ARPANET when Holmes claims to have been using ARPANET then he would have been known to some of us. Because back then the number of people with access was a slack handful, many of them in Computer Science laboratories, most of them in the US military, not more than a handful in UK institutions.

Not of course that I need to tell you this.

He reminds me of the serial fantasist "Internet Engineer" who made similar claims about a decade ago and who was shot down in flames in consequence. And of course he was shown to have lied about his qualifications and he had to run off and have a degree bought for him in a misplaced attempt to save his face.

I'm still amused by someone tryng to claim that they have been using OE for over 35 years. Time machines must be cheap in some corners of the universe.

It helps also if one can tell the difference between "Duel" and "Dual".

They may be having an electronic fight.

Ah, I thought it was a demonstration of this "superior IQ" that Pc users have.

The Register has an amusing article about Vista today. How does Vista tel if some malware want to install itself on your computer? Well it seems it looks for the name of the application. If it is called "install" then it is obviously nasty and need administrator priveliges. If the same application is renamed to something like "CuteAndFluffy" it will run and install without a problem.

Brilliant security model there guys.

What was that about people with low IQ and the computer they choose to own?

And? At least I thought about it and made a decision to NOT follow the herd, however as you have discovered it's easier to just drop in with most others and accept second best as the easy option, shame it's hard to justify.

wunnnnnerful...

Of course the Mac herd is the one you've chosen to follow.

It's an informed choice, because it doesn't close any doors. Having purchased a Mac, I can run OSX, Vista, XP, Linux or whatever takes my interest. I can run most other operating systems and applications in a window inside MacOS without having to reboot. Which makes it ideal for running the occasional application that someone refuses to make cross platform.

How can you, when they are fundamentally different?

You seem to be terribly confused. It's perfectly possible to compare like with like. It's introducing a red heering on your part to attempt to compare fundamentally different specifications.

When one compares like with like as has been done already in this thread, the often repeated drivel that Macs are expensive machines is disproved. They are the same price, often cheaper than, no-name PC clones built to a lower spec.
