Macs have very little to offer me, except for higher reliability.

The overall costs are higher. Macintosh have structured their pricing to make it appear value, but when you go to add on something...

Make your mind up, it's not that long since you were complaining that Macs are expensive machines. Now you are complaining that the peripherals are expensive.

Except that isn't true either. I added a terabyte of storage for my laptop recently. It cost the same price as it did to add a terabyte to my PC laptop. In fact (gasp) I simply plugged the same connector into each laptop and swap the same drive between each computer. And I use the same scanner, the same printers, the same server, and even in the case of the bespoke software I'm using for the current project, the same software. Heck I even use the same memory and the same internal drives on both platforms.

So what is there to add on that costs so much more on the Mac than on the PC and what hardware am I tied into in such a way that Apple forces me to buy at their (hypothetically inflated) price?

Did you make any? Evidence says no, just took what was offered.

I did warn you about making a fool of yourself again. Find out the difference between a "Mac computer" and a random piece of Apple hardware. (In fact I'm grateful to you for posting these pics - I may buy the cheap monitor to plug into my Mac Mini computer.)

It's not hard to find items of hardware that are cheaper than superficially similar Apple kit elsewhere - I'll give you another for free - iPod socks and Marks and Spencers socks.

Keep digging - you'll be back in Oz in no time at this rate.

iPod socks cost 3 times as much as the otherwise identical Marks & Sparks socks?

I imagine so - I have to say that I'm not up to date on M&S prices - perhaps DFM can nip into town with his camera and take some candid shots for us.

Note that I never limited it to Mac computers. Look up the top, and you'll see this was about Apple hardware.

Medication time, jeremy.

In your opinion (which is valueless)

You're being ripped off. The LG monitor is available for EUR 220 elsewhere. The going price for the 20" Cinema dislay in Italy is EUR

599.

That tends to suggest that this "recent" visit was not so recent. As indeed do the file creation dates:

You're a bit of an ugly bugger BTW. Hmm, Pentax Optio.

Oh, BTW, your site security sucks. If you hadn't already guessed. Must be that famous PC user superior ability, eh?

Ah, you have an inability to tell the difference between arse and elbow. Why didn't you say so earlier?

Heck if you prefer the LG monitor (or something cheaper like an Acer or Samsung) to an Apple monitor, why not buy the LG? It will still work with Apple kit.

Or did you imagine that Apple computers will only work with Apple displays?

If you hadn't cut the context it would be seen that the statements are inconsistent. Or rather that the "Macs are expensive" line taken by the OP is inconsistent.

He declares that Macs are expensive. He is then shown examples that show that like for like they are the same price as equivalent PCs. So then he changes his tack and claims that peripherals are expensive.

However Macs use the same peripherals as PCs so how can they be more expensive.

You may wish to advance beyond debating 101 before attempting a reply.

So when you said

"Last time we did this it was clear Mac prices were a heap higher" you meant what, exactly?

No, don't reply, please - it's almost embarrassing watching you.

I'm just hoping for his sake that he really isn't from Genoa and just has a fetish about the place. Down home we have a saying, "Better to have a corpse in the kitchen than a Genovese in front of the door."

And you are showing signs of desperation. Especially when you snipped the following:

Care to try again Bozo? I take it you haven't got tired of falling over your clown feet yet?
